3 Needs, When Met, Can Bring Peace Before Dying

In this talk, Veteran Emergency Medical Technician Matthew O’Reilly describes a pattern of three needs he has noticed in his work with people in the last moments of their lives. They are:

Need for Forgiveness

Need for Remembrance

Need to have lived a Meaningful Life

I think this talk can be helpful for encouraging self-reflection about what our priorities might be for our own lives, as well as for thinking about how we use ourselves as helpers to people we know personally, or serve professionally who may be approaching the end of their lives.

I'm a Social Justice Educator and Aspiring Humanitarian who is interested in conflict resolution, improving intergroup relations, and building more equitable and inclusive communities. "Notes from an Aspiring Humanitarian" is my blog, where I write about issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. By exploring social identities through written word, film & video, and other forms of media, I hope to continue to expand and enrich conversations about social issues that face our society, and to find ways to take social action while encouraging others to do so as well in their own ways.
