New From Social Justice Origin Stories: “Take This With You”

  • July 11, 2025

I’ve recently released the first volume of a series I’m calling “Take This With You” over at Social Justice Origin Stories. In this series, storytellers share what they hope listeners take away from their stories long after their episode ends.

Check it out and use the time as an opportunity to reflect on what you need in your own journey to advance social justice, given the state of the world right now. I hope it serves as a necessary check-in for you.

New from Social Justice Origin Stories: “The Justice We Imagine”

  • May 8, 2025

Although much of the storytelling so far in Social Justice Origin Stories has taken the form of 1:1 conversations, I try to bring their voices together whenever I can. I recently released the first volume in a sub-series I’m creating called “The Justice We Imagine”, where I ask storytellers 3 questions:

When is true social justice possible?

What shapes our approach to the work?

Why does understanding and sharing our social justice origin stories matter?

As you listen to their responses, think of how you might reply to these questions.

Catalysts for Change: Racial Equity in Social Work Education

It all started with an incident where a class discussion exposed unexamined underlying racial biases and prompted a group of Black students to initiate broader, organized dialogues to address the issues.
