From The King Center: 50 Daily Affirmations for Nonviolence

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s Letter from Birmingham Jail, as well as the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for jobs and freedom.  From April 4th 2013 (the day of Dr. King’s assassination in 1968) through May 23rd, 2013, The King Center for Nonviolent Social Change launched its #50DaysNonviolence Campaign across its social media outlets, releasing one affirmation each day.

I’ve followed the campaign and have shared the affirmations here. Click on any photo below to browse the gallery. Let me know if you have any favorites. What are some other ways to be nonviolent?

I'm a Social Justice Educator and Aspiring Humanitarian who is interested in conflict resolution, improving intergroup relations, and building more equitable and inclusive communities. "Notes from an Aspiring Humanitarian" is my blog, where I write about issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. By exploring social identities through written word, film & video, and other forms of media, I hope to continue to expand and enrich conversations about social issues that face our society, and to find ways to take social action while encouraging others to do so as well in their own ways.
