Notes from an Aspiring Humanitarian Included Among The Inspired Advocates

Notes from an Aspiring Humanitarian has been included among a list of blogs related to Social Work and Social Advocacy called “Inspired Advocates”.

According to Julie Sweet, associate editor at Social Work License Map,

“Through Inspired Advocates, we wish to foster a community dedicated to social work awareness and advocacy. We want to provide practicing social workers and those affected by social work related issues with places to find dependable resources full of insight and perspective. “

There are so many great helpers and writers out there! Although this particular list operates under a ranking system, I am honored to be included here because it gives me an opportunity to learn from some of them.

If there are any Social Work or Social Justice oriented blogs that you love, feel free to share them in the comments section.

There’s a need for more people who are passionate about equity and social justice to share their thoughts and experiences. One of the most common sentiments I hear from people who are considering starting a blog is a fear that they don’t have anything unique or compelling enough to contribute.

No matter how much “information” exists already, no one can tell your story like you can, and you never know who you can impact for the better by making your own experiences, thoughts or expertise accessible to others. So keep thinking about it, and let me know where you land.

I'm a Social Justice Educator and Aspiring Humanitarian who is interested in conflict resolution, improving intergroup relations, and building more equitable and inclusive communities. "Notes from an Aspiring Humanitarian" is my blog, where I write about issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. By exploring social identities through written word, film & video, and other forms of media, I hope to continue to expand and enrich conversations about social issues that face our society, and to find ways to take social action while encouraging others to do so as well in their own ways.
