“This is one of my favorite songs, if you do not have it in your collection. . Notice the two versions of the song, and how much the song resonates with the audience in this live version. It truly was an at the time. There was so much Black pride. I see a resurgence of sorts today. “Right On! ”
Curtis Mayfield was ahead of his time, and his genius and social conscience is missed today. Another voice gone far too soon.

“A Change is Gonna Come” Sam Cooke
I love that song. It’s very soulful, and it spoke to the conditions for Black folks when it was written, and it still resonates today. I’ll include this song in the next installment of Songs for The Movement.
