Street Harassment: An Expression of Oppression

Street Harassment: An Expression of Oppression

Video Description:

“A short documentary produced for a class at The George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs. Inspired by our personal experiences with harassment, we hope this film will help to educate people and stop harassment before it starts.”

From the Stop Street Harassment Website:

George Washington University students Samantha LaFrance and Sarah Blugis created a documentary about street harassment for a class project this semester. They interviewed students and professors on campus as well as myself. Great work to them both for bringing forward this important issue and letting people share their stories.”

I'm a Social Justice Educator and Aspiring Humanitarian who is interested in conflict resolution, improving intergroup relations, and building more equitable and inclusive communities. "Notes from an Aspiring Humanitarian" is my blog, where I write about issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. By exploring social identities through written word, film & video, and other forms of media, I hope to continue to expand and enrich conversations about social issues that face our society, and to find ways to take social action while encouraging others to do so as well in their own ways.
