With all of the daily assaults people who are Black have to deal with, it can sometimes be hard to find the joy inside our tears.
However, I’m thankful for Black Twitter today not only because I can turn to it to build community, find solidarity, and plan action steps as it relates to #BlackLivesMatter, #SayHerName, #OscarsSoWhite and others, but I can also turn to Black Twitter for assistance with taking care of myself. Laughter is an important part of that process.
#ThanksgivingWithBlackFamilies has been in full swing, and here are some of the memes that had me laughing our loud this over the past couple of days:

Hilarious and yet so true. Happy Thanksgiving, keep doing what you do!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
I definitely got a good laugh off of these tweets!!! It’s funny how so many people have the same, exact experiences during Thanksgiving!! My favorite was the granny watching everyone eat like she’d won Top Chef Masters!! lol
You’re right! I did find it so funny how relatable these were! The one about granny was one of my favorites too ?
I know I’m late to this party, but every single one of those is my family, especially at the reunions. My favorite, finally being allowed to “get in grown folks bidness”.
I appreciated the picture that went with that one too! It’s like, after being denied for so long, your time has finally come. This is your moment.
