#ThanksgivingWithBlackFamilies

With all of the daily assaults people who are Black have to deal with, it can sometimes be hard to find the joy inside our tears.

However, I’m thankful for Black Twitter today not only because I can turn to it to build community, find solidarity, and plan action steps as it relates to  #BlackLivesMatter,  #SayHerName, #OscarsSoWhite and others, but I can also turn to Black Twitter for assistance with taking care of myself. Laughter is an important part of that process.

#ThanksgivingWithBlackFamilies has been in full swing, and here are some of the memes that had me laughing our loud this over the past couple of days:

I'm a Social Worker, Educator, and Aspiring Humanitarian who is interested in conflict resolution, improving intergroup relations, and building more equitable and inclusive communities. "Notes from an Aspiring Humanitarian" is my blog, where I write about issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. By exploring social identities through written word, film & video, and other forms of media, I hope to continue to expand and enrich conversations about social issues that face our society, and to find ways to take social action while encouraging others to do so as well in their own ways.

I definitely got a good laugh off of these tweets!!! It’s funny how so many people have the same, exact experiences during Thanksgiving!! My favorite was the granny watching everyone eat like she’d won Top Chef Masters!! lol

I know I’m late to this party, but every single one of those is my family, especially at the reunions. My favorite, finally being allowed to “get in grown folks bidness”.
