I'm a Social Worker, Educator, and Aspiring Humanitarian who is interested in conflict resolution, improving intergroup relations, and building more equitable and inclusive communities. "Notes from an Aspiring Humanitarian" is my blog, where I write about issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. By exploring social identities through written word, film & video, and other forms of media, I hope to continue to expand and enrich conversations about social issues that face our society, and to find ways to take social action while encouraging others to do so as well in their own ways.

  1. This was emotionally moving! Surprising that it would be, but I get the feeling that many people are caught in ignorance while feeling powerless against the system. Great find, Relando!

    • Always great to hear from you Dr. Wright! Yes! This was emotionally moving for me too. I think many of us can feel powerless against the system at times, and while having the knowledge of what to do may not always cause the situation to work in our favor in terms of safety, humane treatment and the protection of the innocent, it can definitely help us to be better prepared and equip us to take action should we survive the encounter.

      Knowledge is power.
